I think the preseason remarks from both him about playing 70 games, meaning Omaha without saying it, have given people the false sense that we were going to have immediate success.

I saw it as a bravado and boldness move that he wanted to display to the team, starting at the top with him. How could they carry that swag if he didn’t carry it himself too. Straight leadership move.

I think he is just paying the price to the impatient for having the guts to put his balls on the table.

No doubt, however I believe this has somewhat gotten in the coaches head, thus many of the coaching decisions that have turned heads - right, wrong or indifferent.

Good point. And let’s me honest. If we were playing “word association game,” the first word that comes to mind when Coach Matt Deggs comes up, it’s “winning.” That’s something we are not doing right now. BUT, it’s temporary. This team will right the ship.

Like win another game this year probably having continued success highly unlikely

Looks like Deggs is trying to find out who wants to play with all the substitutions, moving players around. One would hope that the line up would be set at this stage.

Deggs did the games would not be boring. He was right about that.

We will be fine. I didn’t realize how much power we lost at the plate last season, and how much it would’ve helped right now (Veillon, Monica, Lott, LaHare, Kassuls). Deggs is trying to find a lineup and along the way, there’s guys rotating who still need to get their feet wet at this level.
