Id like to know what happen over christmas break until game 1. Something took place bc this doesnt look like the same team we were building in the fall.

Two observations:

Greg Larnerd is a 10x better play by play guy than our normal guy.

Our first rounder is selfish. Hear me out. Slow starter, turns it up for a few weeks, then fizzles out. Goes to Cape Cod and tears it up. In the Cape Cod, it's basically a showcase for ME ME ME. Barely any signs are given. Don't have to be concerned about moving runners over or being part of a pack. On top of that, his self promoting YouTube channel makes me believe he's playing for one reason and one reason only. But playing for yourself won't work when the model Deggs is trying to preach is the "pack mentality."

The radio broadcast was awful. I’d hear the bat hit the ball and he’d be yapping about anything but the count and situation. I generally knew what happened by the crowd and sound of the ball. Eventually he’d get around to describing what happened sort of.

You prefer the alternative? I do not. Drove for 45 minutes during a JW called ballgame and never heard the score.

Supposedly 5 is the captain...the leader of the pack. If the rest of the team is to follow, he needs to step up. Am I putting the entire blame on him? No. Just trying to bring everyone back to reality. Good ballplayer, but no where near 1st round talent IMO

Nobody knows what round for anyone. People need to trash one amateur baseball player. Knock yourself out. It's a team game and trashing one player shows a lack of understanding.

I know that. I was replying to the comment about how many runs did he give up. It's a weekday game. Runs will be scored. When facing a team's 4th or 5th best pitcher, 5, as well as the rest of the team, should be able to come up with more than just nine singles.
