Thread: Don't expect a 1 year turn around in run production

I wasn't expecting much from this weekend to be honest. A lot of distractions, a new coach, new players, different mentality from the managerial position.

The biggest complaint I have heard is not so much that they lost but the manner in which they lost. That is, Deggs getting on the radio and saying how he wanted the nastiest bunch of players he could find and that he wanted opponents to know what was about to happen when they walked into that ballpark.

Granted, these opinion were coming from people who have that football mentality when it comes to losing in baseball but I can understand this train of thought when the only thing nasty from this weekend is the taste in our mouths.

Let's keep an open mind and see how they build off this disappointment, that's when we will see how nasty these guys are in my opinion.

Yes, I was disappointed in the way the Cajun hitters performed this past weekend. But please forgive me if I don't jump off of the cliff after the first three games!

Difference between winning and losing can be measured by the amount of “they” instead of us or we in the comments.

Can not believe we’re already doing this crap...
So we can not take anything away from this weekend ... unless it looked positive?

We have all watched and/or played a lot of baseball in our lives, and pitching and defense can take you very far, no doubt. However, it leads to a lot of stressful innings on your staff, which does take a toll.

I expect our hitting to get better and our team to be much, much better in the last 1/3 or 1/4 of the season.

Yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying. We learned very little about our team this weekend.

None of us have played baseball under the circumstances these guys just went through.

Thanks for posting. He explains it all very well with an insider's perspective on hitting situations

I think it might be a blessing to struggle in week 1 these kids can relax a bit and play ball without having to worry about lofty expectations
