This probably mention: If not for one pitch over the heart of the plate by Wilson and that ground rule double we win.......one crazy bounce in left field and one bad pitch, or one a great hit.....
It’s amazing the attitude people take towards baseball without any understanding of the game. This is a sport where you lose. Get over it. I’m more interested to see how the guys respond not only today but over the next few weeks.
......I am just wondering why we are suppose to be so good.......is it coaching? Have we brought in some great players? And it is not only this board but also our conference foes that think we will be so good....Can’t believe I had to miss the W/E games, but talked to the Tulane !st baseman and said I would see him Tuesday.....I also mentioned the great jester with wearing * 36 this Fall in the game!
FWIW, I think people went into the game feeling like it was a fairy tale and we'd have some miraculous game in robes honor, I even felt like we would come back and win to the last out. That said, if robe taught us anything in his years here, it's that life rarely goes the way you want. It's not about how you fall down, its about how you get back up that will determine who you are.
Still, lots of positives I saw last night, I have a feeling this will be a much better offensive team when all is said and done. Biggest difference was seeing the offensive approach change. man on first, no out in the 9th down 1, and batter was allowed to swing away instead of wasting an out getting the runner to second. The heart and attitude is still there, the approach is just different.
