Default Baseball Opening Wkd Rotation Set

Here it is. Also, by the rules of college baseball, guaranteed this is not the end of the year rotation either

All 3 are JUCO's (Moriarty is actually a soph coming in.) Here are their numbers from last season. As you can see, all with very high K rates. Solid K/BB rates for all but Angel.

NW Florida State where Angel and Moriarty played is a traditional D1 JC power and Carter Robinson was a first team AA in D2 JC who pitched a 7 inning, 8K/0BB, 4 ER game in the D2 World Series

Very interesting, we have 4 returning players from last year that all had respectable numbers with at least 7 starts and none of them are weekend starters. That means that these guys coming in must be pretty damn good.

Jack Burk (might be injured) 7 Starts 3-2 record 2.82 ERA and .256 B/A Against him
Jacob Schultz 7 Starts 2-3 record 3.64 ERA and .239 B/A Against him
Austin Perrin 10 starts 4-5 record 4.52 ERA and .272 B/A Against him
Brandon Young 9 starts 3-5 record 4.80 ERA and .208 B/A Against him

I hope this means that the middle and back end of our rotation as well as our mid week starter should be one of these 4 guys, with exception of Burk, who I am not sure of his status.

Deggs said Jack and AP are about 3 weeks from being ready to go.

One other thing, look at the sizes of our starting rotation for the weekend:

    Conner Angel 6'5" 190
    Carter Robinson 6'8" 225
    Will Moriaty 6'5" 220

    Brandon Young 6'6" 210

    Other guys in the rotation"

    David Williams 6'4" 225
    Austin Bradford 6'5" 220
    Dane Dixon 6'5" 180
    Jeff Wilson 6'4" 220

We got some size coming at you this year from the mound.

Correct, but even since the Fall Angel and Robinson have been the top dogs. At least in Deggs’ view. Angel in particular was dominant against Miss St. from what I remember.

And Cooke is throwing mid to high-mid 90s apparently.

Cooke is the best pitcher on the team, according to a reliable person

    Angel in two fall games:
    vs MSU - 3IP, 1H, 0R, 2K, 0BB
    vs Tul - 2IP, 0H, 0R, 4K, 0BB

    Not too bad

Also, Deggs has raved about how Cooke may be the best all around athlete in the entire complex.

Excited to see if some of these guys that struggled as young arms last year will have grown. Its hard to know what we'll get because every name gets thrown around before the season, including Brennan and Colton Frank as options.

Like the monkey said when the train ran over his tail, "won't be long now."

WOW! 5 innings of work, 1 hit, 6K's and no walks. Not too shabby.
