If you're busting Pete Rose for life, so should it be for all of those who participated. And I'm a 'stros fan. Out and out cheated the game. But money talks, and if MLB cleaned house like they should, may kill the game.

Not to mention the steroid era.

Astros fan here also, and there are two reasons why I don't think they can ban them for life.

    1. Promised players immunity for getting the whole story.

    2. This is bigger than the Astros and what they did is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. If they were to ban an Astro player or players, those players could potentially detail other teams/players wrongdoings in this area.

The Astros are like Lance Armstrong. Not the only ones doing it, but were brash, cocky and unapologetic while being among the best in the sport. Continuing to use the banned technology after the September 2017 commissioners memo was what I believe ultimately led to their severe punishment.

Your second reason is more than likely. While I hate the fact that they took sign stealing to another level, it has existed in the game for many years on one level or another. They received their punishment and it's time to move on. There has been cheating in the game for decades, from signing foreign players illegally, steroids, illegally hacking into another franchise's scounting files, hiding injuries in trades, etc:

Don't get me started on "The Mick" playing drunk to relax himself. He and Ruth are celebrated drunks of the game.

Rose, abet a sinner, as a player, always left it on the field.
