That BARELY qualifies as regional. We have rarely played them. This places them more in the warm body category of playing MAC schools.

    Certainly not awesome.

I would trade that 1 for 1 with 2 road P5 games. It is financially better and offers MUCH MORE brand growth, but I'm stupid like that.
UAB is within the recruiting footprint that Coach Napier focuses on (and all future Cajun coaches should as well) and they are currently a solid to above solid G5 program. This is a good add, IMO.

Yeah, I tend to agree it is a good move. Not great, but better than a lot of teams we scheduled in the past.

Barely Regional? I live 430 miles away from Lafayette and drive it all of the time. Anytime you can play a G5 team within driving distance it is a good series.

But yes UAB is a terrible opponent it's 6 hours away they are 27-13 the last 3 years but we should just keep rescheduling NMST and maybe get Umass to come down fans will flock to that.

I'm all in for a fair 1 and 1 series.UAB beats playing Ohio and should cost us less to travel.

To each his own, but I'm more about playing my pears and beating them now. Wins over P5's are great, but I'm looking for consistency in winning. Playing 1 P5 program is good enough.

Their rising from the ashes of having no program to solid respectability is amazing.

I remember that game at Cajun Field. Hell of a rainstorm.

Didn’t UAB win the CUSA Championship this season? Scheduling a home and home with a peer G5 conference champion seems like anything but a bad deal to me.

Sounds like a good deal. 1 for 1 against a peer who are on an upward swing? Playing the MAC is fine, but you'd like semi regional match ups and this is one we can drive to.
