Wish I was. He averages 9 points and 5.5 rebounds a game and he’s been on a steady decline since the app game. He looks lost on offense. Makes terrible passes and tries to dribble too much. Gets outmanned on defense and doesn’t have the athleticism to overcome the size he normally has to guard. He may be quicker than Miller but that ain’t saying much. I’d take Justin back on this team in a heartbeat.
My gripe is cause people dogged and still dog the sheit outta Justin Miller for the way he played but still give Dou the benefit of the doubt and say he’s better. The fact is he’s not. They both give their all but neither are very good. I still would take miller’s passing and rebounding over anything Dou brings to the table. Especially this year. His D1 experience trumps anything Dou has.
There's several players who created their own exit tickets. Miller as much as I liked him was one of those.
None of the tickets had anything to do with basketball ability or practice effort.
Fair enough. I would agree that Dou is maddening at times for the same reasons. I concede that Miller's rebounding numbers were technically better but Dou gives us a better defender and some sort of rim protection that Miller did not. Also, Miller's lack of athleticism was very apparent and hurt us when he faced more athletic front lines like Arkansas State last year. They ate him up and he was much less effective. I'd take Dou only because I think his ceiling is better and I'm still hopeful that the "light" will come on and he really starts to get it. Had Miller been more of a team guy I'd have no problem with him as I've stated numerous times that even on that really good team, the ball just stopped moving when it hit his hands.
And yet he had most assists per minute played.
Hate for Miller runs deeper than the abyss. He’s not gonna be back, don’t feel like y’all gotta block. It’s not like the Big Fish getting another 5 years.
