When those two sports consistently break the Top 25 and compete for championships, fans will naturally flock to it. Both baseball and softball have also created their own traditions within the fan base. Also, the gameday atmospheres for both sports are one of the most intense in the entire country.
If basketball can make similar runs in the dance like those two sports, watch fans flock to the Cajundome like old times.
You’re making a case for excellence where it already exists. Of course the problem is not with them. The problem is that the university isn’t doing what needs to be done for basketball.
Regardless of success softball and baseball are garnish in the NCAA world. They don’t move the needle period. Doesn’t mean either can’t be your favorites. But in the NCAA they’re afterthoughts.
