Believe I’m as frustrated as anyone else. I guess I’m just more of one to chalk it up to being dealt a very crappy hand than trying to find someone to blame like the coaching staff for recruiting injury prone players or strength and conditioning for what they have done with training.
This isn’t cards, the game isn’t about chance. It’s about being the master of the craft, it’s why some coaches get half of a million to coach and others less or more. Marlin is paid as if he owns the basketball SBC conference. Yet he owns nothing but excuses.
Yet you answered Cajun80, not Hatch who used the lady luck example. Clearly there’s an element of chace in every sport, but some manage better than others. Bob, unfortunately is clearly not one of those guys who minimize chance being the dominant element in their program.
I try not to play the blame game that much and I generally do not like to see people fired from jobs although its a hot topic because there are families involved and livelihoods at stake. However, I'd suggest this is not a one year snapshot. I often wonder how people just ignore the lack of success here over a decade of work. I hate constantly yelling for Bob's job but I think this program is more in need of a general reset. Get new blood in here to hopefully re-energize a fan base that sorely needs it and bring in some new, fresh blood. Sometimes its just needed and both parties can go their own ways.
To me, a very casual Basketball fan, I used to care when we were winning and had a shot at post season because UL is my Alma Mater.. But its not logical for me to care about 10 years,a decade, of remembering that we have a men's basketball team with the end result.... If basketball mattered here a change will occur. To put it in perspective, let our football coach or baseball coach produce these results over a decade.. Their A%$ would be ran out of town.
x10 Maybe it is because I moved away from Lafayette but I just don't care to pay attention to a bottom of the barrel FBS team like we have. I've been defending Marlin for 3 or 4 years now but I feel like even his biggest supporters have run out of passion and enthusiasm. Change is needed
