The Cajuns put up a great fight vs a GREAT FLORIDA STATE team.
We lost 5-2, but we jumped out to a 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point. Where our #1 and #3 teams won.
In singles we lost two matches in straight sets at #5 and #6. But we then won the #2 spot, which had the match tied at 2-2 at that point. Here is where it got interesting, both teams needed 2 of the last 3 wins to close it out. FSU took the #4 spot in straight sets and UL lost the last 2 spots at #1 and #3 in split sets. UL won both matches 1 sets and was sitting in great shape to win it all but lost both 3rd sets. This is a FSU team that defeated a very good FAU team earlier in the week 7-0 including knocking off the #58 ranked singles player in the nation in straight sets. This FSU team won 19 matches last year, including making it to the 2nd round of the NCAA championships and losing to #3 ranked Florida in the NCAA tournament.
