Obviously you want a coach that shows he can win and Napier has done that. It isn't about the signature win its about what you do with what you've got and how you compare to your peers. In two short years Billy has done exceptionally well against his peers in the SBC.

Now none of that would matter if it weren't for his lineage. Direct links to Swinney and Saban (who wanted him back) are a huge factor.
You’re telling me that had he beat App state this year that it wouldn’t matter? Furthermore, If he wins the first game of the year this season we are taking about our new coach at this point.

Agree about the coaching tree he came from.

Actually that would be a pretty solid criteria for choosing a coach. A coach coming through the ranks who has shown he can beat superior competition and win championships? That is a common trait you see in many HC hires who are considered up and comers. Plus, he's only done it for 2 years. It took Scott Satterfield 6 years of consistent winning. He's just an example of course.

I’m not sure you’re grasping for anything but it’s funny how people hear what they want to hear. The people that listened to his interview heard him say in so many words he was staying in Lafayette. Did he say the actual words “I declined the job.” ? No but he said they built the plane(program) and they wanna fly it a bit. The optimistic fans hear the latter and are confident in his genuine nature. Others that hear different just wanna be right to say I told you so. Which category do you fall under? 😉

He means stop questioning everything like you do as a attorney daily.

I think the chances of him staying are more in the 20-30% range.
And believe me when I say that I hope I'm wrong about this.
people banking on coach leaving because if it were them, they could not pass up life changing money, is a completely short sighted view to the individual person and individual circumstances for coach Napier.

I've never called you a garbage man, although some feel they are more honorable than attorneys. 😁

side note, the Lending tree bowl, has to love all the attention the coaching saga is getting. maybe viewership for the game on Monday will spike. Time for the boys to put on a world class show for the nation.

Either the Moo State people are gonna look really dumb next week... or we are.

That being said, the post by Dr Maggard has me feeling the odds are 80% or more towards him staying no matter what MissStake throws at him to change his mind.
