"We have offered the job to Napier. Cohen is low-balling Napier and trying to get his number. Who can blame him? Cohen is negotiating with an agent thru Napier- so you get alot of bull____ as you go thru that process. Napier doesnt want the story of him taking the State job to break before kickoff Saturday- so that is a big deal heading into the weekend. So he may want the job- but he will keep everything at bay about him jumping ship before Monday. He wants to win 11 games this season."

"as best i can tell from the Louisiana side of things, MSU has agreed in principle to all of the demands from the napier camp. i dont think we will be able to keep this under wraps through the bowl game, and its 50/50 whether he even coaches in it now. our nuts were held to the fire, and its our own fault because we could have done this in november. He will be our new coach."

Word on the Mississippi State coaching opening is La-Lafayette’s Billy Napier declined. Names being floated now are Gene Chizik, LSU DC Dave Aranda, and Florida DC Todd Grantham. Some interest also in Larry Fedora. Degree of interest in each not known.

The Moo crew also think BN and Baylor is in play. I don’t see that happening since Baylor is private and money is no problem. Whatever the situation, it’s good to know our AD is on top of it all, if needed.

Money is not everything to everyone, if his wife and kids love it here and you have great job security, and you are king of the city, that means a lot to some people. I do believe he will be gone in the next 2 years, but hopefully by then we will have made a splash nationally.

Napier is simply playing this the way coaches have to play it. If he's given the chance, he'll cash in on the chance for a big P5 payday just like every other G5 coach in the country would.

Just ask UCF, Boise, Houston, or even La Tech fans about it. Every one of the coaches that left those schools for P5 money did so after announcing their family's love of the city they were currently coaching in. That's just basic coaching 101 stuff. Everyone knows it. Any coach with half a brain will always profess love of the home city of the school currently paying them.

I think the chances of Napier being at UL for the 2020 season are at best 50/50 right now.

If State is willing to throw 4 million at Napier, I’d expect they announce him as their next coach following our bowl game Monday. The stakes are simply too high and the opportunity too good for Nap to pass on this. Sure he could sit it out another year and hope for a better offer from a more respectable program, but who on here would pass on what will be life changing money? I think the chances of him staying are more in the 20-30% range.
And believe me when I say that I hope I’m wrong about this.
