It’s a gamble though. You lose a QB to injury and lose 5 or 6 games, suddenly you aren’t that hot of a commodity.

I believe that we’ve got at least two very capable quarterbacks ripe on the vine and could make fine wine should LL go away for whatever reason.

Wow. Those guys on elitedog are more than certain they have Napier. A sampling:

"Napier was interviewed by ULL radio guy last night. All signs indicate he is gone and will be announced any day. Their AD was also interviewed and he indicated he was gone w/o saying it speaking.

We have our next Coach, relax and enjoy the weekend."

Y'all need to stop reading this stuff and just let it play out. Napier will be here next year to guide our boys to a 14-0 record and Peach Bowl victory over LSU. Yokel guarantee.

    Now, rest easy boys.

He'll keep saying it, and if he's right, he's got a scoop. If he's wrong, he'll just move on to the next thing. His magical "source" is probably someone on the Elite Dawgs board who is similarly delusional.

I would not be shocked if he's gone next week. Quite honestly, if they're willing to throw the house at him, I'd be more shocked if he stays. And that's a good thing, because every young, smart, ambitious coach in this country will be looking at UL much, much differently than they did a couple of years ago. And we're stacked talentwise for the next few years.

That said, if his goal is somewhere in the SEC East, odds are he is staying one more year.

If Napier stays, everyone of us need to become the biggest South Carolina fans next season. Hope they go 9-3 or better.

If Napier stays, I hope next season goes so well that he’s guaranteed to leave, due to the truckloads of money offered to him.

Oh, it really doesn't bother me, in fact I'm finding pretty amusing......I remember well the craziness during the Napier hire.

I am also 100% confident that we will be fine either way. But think our chances are pretty good he won't be leaving this season. That confidence got a boost seeing Oilers post that we are at 50-50 right now. If that's the worst case scenario I'll take it.

Brent Pry’s plane will take off at any moment, I promise. Been waiting for that for 2 years.

Remember to be careful with the coaching change “certainty.” Wherever it comes from.

Yup. Injuries can decimate a team...

If Napier was leaving for MSU, he'd be there already.

    Drinkwitz is already at Mizzou.
Kiffin is already at Ole Miss.
Mike Norvell is already at Florida State.

Why would Napier act any differently?
