It has been stated many times.....why would Napier now take a job that he turned down last year??

Plus, if you're ambitious, working for Saban might be worth it for resume purposes. But, nobody WANTS to work for Saban. He is a true SOB. Napier has already paid his dues in that regard. Can'r imagine him voluntarily being resentenced.

Thanks, I don't keep up with this like many do. It's hard to decide what to believe today with so much misinformation going around.

It will be interesting to see the interaction between Sarkisian and Orgeron considering what happened at USC. I suspect, they are two old hands at this and figure it's part of the game.

I also find it interesting to see all the gossip and tom foolery going on when coaching "ring around the Rosie" time comes around. It's like a bunch of old ladies watching soap operas. It is entertaining.

I just hope that none of our recruits real all of that crap and start to think that Billy is trying to leave by going after every opening out there. It is apparent to Bert Stare was a major troll job, but their fanbase took it hook line and sinker (and I thought we were gullible.) Some of those people on EliteDawgs kind of bordered on creepy stalkers. They even mentioned Napier's wife at one point.

Please God, don't allow RPers to every get that wacko!

Nah. We just follow flights. We don’t go into stalkerish mode of doing wife watch at the local grocery store.

Speak for yourself. I wife watch EVERY TIME I go to the grocery store. I just don't talk about it on message boards! Oh, wait. 🥴

Just read this entire thread. Very entertaining.

I had a conversation with Billy the day before the App State game and told him how entertaining it was to read where he was going to be coaching next year. I won't go into the details because it was a private conversation but I was convinced when Moorhead was fired that Billy wasn't going there.

    From Bert on Elitedawgs:
Posted this morning around 9 AM

“I am still here. Talks definitely broke down between Cohen and Napier last night. My post calling out to Dellenger was basically a bat signal to see if things could be salvaged, and he confirmed they could not.

The Sarkisian stuff leaked about 30 minutes after talks broke down with Napier.

If State makes one final push this morning and agrees to the original terms that were agreed in principle this weekend (with no amendments), then Napier is still coming.

My best understanding is that talks broke down over the S&C position (and his roles), the staff salaries of 5.8 mil, and the housing allowance request of $1,000,000.

I am not a troll. Elitedawg Enforcer can confirm. I told him what my role was in this through private messages, and I want to thank him for protecting my privacy. Let me explain my role in this:

This thread was not actually facts or predictions, rather it was a back channel for requests/demands from the Louisiana side of the things until the Lenders Tree Bowl was completed. I was given valid info in the very first post that would be needed to get the eyes of the MSU people. The very first post was put out there because MSU was supposed to fire Moorhead on the Thursday, Jan 2. My first post was basically a warning that if Moorhead wasn't fired Friday, then there would be no negotiating. Every post thereafter was a camouflaged negotiation. This thread served it purpose incredibly well, and we did not intend for it to go so viral, but it is what it is. If you review my posts, it will start to make sense. Even the MLS listing post was a request for the housing allowance to be $1,000,000. This is a way for coaches to basically live rent free in a luxurious house owned by private entities. This is something that head coaches prefer now because of how precarious their permanent address is.

After talks broke down last night, I was asked to post the Final Tuesday update thread. I posted the Tuesday Update with a prediction that Napier would be head coach and people should be waiting on Ross Dellenger to confirm. This was basically a bat signal for Ross to confirm with both parties the current status, and see if anything could be salvaged. Apparently, they could not.

I will accept my permaban if Sark is announced, but nothing is done yet. All it will take is one phone call that agrees with what I have listed in the fourth paragraph above to close the deal.

I would like to hear if Rougedawg knows what went down on the MSU side last night, as he seems to be on the same page I am as well.”

This just gets better and better.

    😅😅😅

This post makes no sense on so many levels. Why on earth would two parties in this type of negotiation go through a third party whose means of communicating with the two sides is a fan forum... DUH!!!! Like the St AD and Napier's agent don't have phones and can't talk directly to each other??????

Secondly, a $1,000,000 housing allowance? In Starkville? The two most expensive homes in Starkville according to Zwillow rent for $2200/month or less. By that figuring, Napier would have rent free housing for 40 yeaars.

What no one is talking about is Napier's new buyout. I would imagine it is now somewhere in the 3 to 4 million dollar range. If they are only willing to spend 4 million on a 4 year deal, are they really willing to spend the money on Napier's buyout. I am assuming the also had to buyout Moorehead. Does Mississippi state really have that kind of funds currently?

Is the new buyout in effect? Has the new contract been signed?

Dame, they refused the asking price for a future Nick Saban, or Urban Myer. I’d be super P’Oed if my rich university gave up for essentially pennies.
