And the only answer that I can find is the fact that we went through some roster turnover through some missed talent evaluations.
When Hud was not fired after the DJT video fallout, we said it would do irreparable damage to the program. That was based on what was being said around town. It was based on attendance and participation numbers. It came true.

Based on the same criteria, if something isn’t done at the conclusion of this season, history will repeat itself.

Hope the admin is paying attention.

The end of the season will bring change. $$$ factor time to sort out. Our admint knows when they hear war drums. A decade of this cant be defended.

Earlier in the week you said nothing would happen after this season. Do you have a different opinion now and if so, why? Regarding roster turnover, some of those decisions involved people in the administration as well as basketball. They are partially responsible for that and I wonder if that will play a factor in any post season decisions. Yes, the staff is responsible for the lack of depth with some apparent recruiting misses. However, some of the guys playing now were planned as the end of the bench guys and scout team. Any team would be impacted by losing 4 of the top 10 players and another's medical condition contributing to his limited minutes. As far as holding them accountable, I am not sure how to do that without firing them at this stage. No idea if that will happen. Someone will have to talk to Dr. Maggard about that and I doubt he says one word about this to anyone on the planet other than perhaps his wife until the season is over.

No, my opinion remains the same.

Nothing will happen regarding change and it will do irreparable damage to our program.

Big Fish would have been an ideal hire foe Dr. Authemont, and Dr. Savoie no doubt loves him for the same reasons..squeaky clean program, graduates players and nobody shows up on the arrest reports.

Unfortunately for Big Fish, the fan base is slightly more demanding than the good Doctors. We want something to hang from the rafters in the Dome for our half mil we pay our head coach. It will either be banners for Conference titles, NCAA appearances and NIT bids, or it will be effigies of the coach.

this thread is getting longer so this may have been mentioned: the players are giving 100% effort, their 100% just isn't up to the standards we are accustomed in the cajundome. I've seen some of our teams in the past where the players just made no effort. the effort was there last night just a lot of it was wasted. We are in desperate need of a floor leader; a go to guy and a defense stopper. Not sure anybody has stepped up to consistently fill those roles and not sure anyone can. This is going to be a tough year to watch which raises the next concern, recruiting.

Regarding recruiting, we did sign a point guard from Hamilton Christian of Lake Charles. Name is Michael Thomas. They are 9 and 3. Virtually every game has been against a much larger school. They beat Lafayette High easily last night in a tournament consolation game. Not sure of his stats but highlights I Have seen of him indicate he is a better offensive player than Wesley as he is 6’1” and can finish at the rim. Maybe he can help us at point guard. Right now we have no additional scholarships but have heard we are looking at bigs. If one is brought in someone will leave. That happens at virtually every school these days.

No offense Mike because I think you truly believe these recruits would pan out, but you've been hyping up these kids for years now. Every kid was supposed to be the next Elf or Shawn Long. Marlins MO has been to go after under sized, under recruited guard and hope they grow their final year of HS ball. All the while hoping for a transfer big from an SEC school.

What happened to actually going out and getting a big from high school like a LaRyan Gary and Tyren Johnson? Shˇ+ recruiting like this is why we end up with a fat, vertically challenged center that would rather jack up threes from Kentucky and midget guards that either can't shoot or can't create their own shot. You don't recruit to fill out you practice squad. You recruit a team and a program. Everyone has injuries. The other program adjust. We just have excuses.
