Leaving last night no one was upset. I brought someone who has not been to a basketball game in ages. He didnt say anything until we got back to the car. He then said "I've been trying to figure out how you lose that game after being up 14 in the second half and the only thing I can come up with is Does not compute."

    Thanks Bob.
Regardless of injuries, if we were to finish with an RPI of 316, that’s downright trash.

    Losing doesn’t kill your program.
    Indifference does.

We are in big trouble. I hope Maggard understand this.

When the fans at an event are more interested in gossip, live and social media than what is going on in the game you’re on thin ice.

It’s beyond that point. Fans aren’t even showing up to gossip and look at their social media posts.

Unfortunately Maggard didn’t pay attention to many recommendations. The only way Marlin gets an extension with me is if he issues an open letter of resignation I keep in my safe. Two years like we’ve had would bring out the resignation ASAP.

Right now, majority of fans are cashed out of the program mainly due to overall average results or our current predicament. But I'll play the game and say that we hypothetically win next season because we have a fully healthy team (even though, in my opinion, I still thought we were a .500 team this season before the injuries occurred).

If that were to happen, would the fans come back at that point? Or are we at the point of no return? I was told that we might've had an ACTUAL attendance of 1500-2000 people last night. That's a sign of no interest. So, I don't know what the answer is. All I know is, like MAT said, we are in dangerous territory right now if we are planning for the future.
Most who have walked away won't come back with just one good year. They have found other things to do. You may get good attendance for a couple of games in conference play but it won't be sustained. We have seen that with football. Let's see what happens with football next year as all indications point to us having a second consecutive strong season. As far as the issues beyond the injuries, no doubt there are some. However, those would likely be mitigated to some degree with the guys out being available. Four guys out last night are definitely in the Top 10 and 2 are in the Top 6 as far as ability. So it is not just numbers, it goes back to not having enough talent available. Still, the injury situation is not changing right now. Have to find a way to succeed with what you have. Not sure what they can do different to make that happen.
