    Agreed . Let the season play out. $$$ is a factor which makes RCAF memberships crucial now.

    Wait...I thought since last season ANY thread started between November 1 and March Madness had to have at least one post critical of Marlin and/or promoting the names of not going to happen favorite sons.

    Actually, I agree with you. That horse has been beaten to a pulp.

Moving on I was wondering if anyone had ideas about what could be done differently with the current roster to improve the chances of success. I certainly am not a coach and would not profess to have knowledge even close to anyone in that profession even at the high school level. Therefore this thread is started simply for conversation purposes. There are a couple of things that I wonder if they would work if tried. They include;

    1) Play a lot more zone, even up to half the game. Bob Marlin hates to play zone for an extended period of time and generally gives up on it as soon as a couple of perimeter shots are made. However, if we went to it more frequently and practiced it strong, perhaps it could be more effective. That may help our foul trouble issue and allow Lafayette to play more. They had some success with it in the second half at La. Tech

    2) Find a way to feature Mylik Wilson more on offense. He is our best athlete and is improving at the free throw line. I am Ok with him driving to the basket more frequently

    3) Be more selective with shooting the three pointer. Our percentage the last few games in that regard has been poor. Johnson and Russell are our best shooters. Russell's shot has been flat in recent games making me think his hip is still sore as he can't get proper elevation. Johnson seems to shoot well only in home games and that must be mental.

    4) Building on Item No.3, be willing to take more OPEN mid range shots. Johnson and Wilson both seem capable of making that regularly. Johnson seems to be hitting a higher percentage of those than his threes. Russell has shown an ability to get into the paint but often can't finish when he tries to go all the way due to his size. When he does get fouled, he is not making the free throw percentage needed for success. If he worked at shooting from five feet vs two feet he may be more effective and would not collect so many charging fouls.

    Anyone else have any on court ideas on how to improve the results. Coaching staff suggestions can be placed in many other threads.
    Replace head coach.

    Did you see my last sentence? Request is for coaching staff issues to be placed in other threads. Pointless to do so in his thread as the idea is to discuss plans to improve results with this staff and this team. Hopefully the rest of you honor the request and make appropriate suggestions.

    Understood, we are all frustrated but we are not getting new players or a new staff this season. Have to deal with what we have.

    Default FIRE MARLIN

    Rings true even tonight. Unbelievable that we had a 14 point lead and ____ing lost. Absolutely terrible.

    We had a game tonight, and no one started a game thread.

    Tells me all I need to know on where the fan base stands on the program. Sad, but true.

    We also went almost 10 minutes without a FG in the 2nd Half. “Injuries” don’t cause that. Poor preparation does. I don’t know what the answer is at this point, but almost all hope may be lost.
