There are quite a few fans who could not go to Orlando for financial reasons. That is not a reason for not going to Mobile for most of those. I expect more of our fans in Mobile than in Orlando, but I doubt it will be double the Orlando crowd. Sad.

    I hear ya.

That Orlando trip last year was very cheap. Direct flights out of Lafayette were less than $100. Probably cost more to drive to Mobile.

I don’t think everyone here is discrediting the win. I for one am not. Regardless of skill level Miami showed this season that is a nice win vs. a P5 program with rich history.

True, but Miami is still a very historic program and beating them in a bowl game on national television and not allowing them to score a single point means a lot. We goosed the U and just to put something in perspective.

    NCAAF Nation posted the following:

4 & 5 star recruits on each roster:
    Miami - 33
    Tech - 1

Tickets are reasonable; hotels are resonable; Mobile is a very nice city with lots of history and plentiful good restaurants and bars, AND the city really appreciates their visitors for the Bowl game and goes the extra mile to provide entertainment opportunities for them.
I’m not gonna give our soft fans a pass, but the stars lined up for the DogKillers. 68 miles and one hour on a high traffic day. Day after Christmas and no school for anybody. If you’re not making this game you’re not going to most any bowl.

Much respect for beating the wildcats, was this a Hud coached team?

What I hate about the whole “star” ratings is that if those 33 players signed with Tech or Louisiana 80% would have been graded out as 3 stars because of who they signed with...it’s extremely biased.

I’m not bragging, it’s just that the general perception in college football is that G5 schools don’t belong on the same field as a P5 and anytime a G5 beats a P5 then it just debunks that argument because we all know they have every resource and advantage over schools like ours so beating any P5 means something. Screw them
