It's called a clarifier since UL's opponent wants to be called Miami.

I was just trying to avoid irrational deconstruction usage of "Ohio"

Well, notice how the NY6 G5 team this year, Memphis, is playing tomorrow, the 28th.

The two games yesterday are in stark contrast to some of the games today. Bouncing between the Texas bowl and the Holiday bowl. The difference is dramatic. Just goes to show that there are way too many bowl games. The four teams that played yesterday had no business in a bowl game.

Tech won 10 games this year. Under your analysis, this year would be the first year the Cajuns “have any business in a bowl game”

Number of wins has nothing to do with it. It's the quality of the games. The games yesterday were just poor. For the most part, the games today are much better. There are just too many bowl games and the quality of the games suffer.

You must have missed the links in this thread about the national attention this bowl garnered. Tech is not getting love and respect, Miami is getting ridiculed.

Number of wins has everything to do with getting into a bowl game. Even more so with less bowls.

Over and over again. The dog killers don’t even get mentioned....it is only implied (and stated outright) what an embarrassment it is to lose to them.

Remember in 2011 when the New Orleans Bowl was rated the 2nd best bowl game?

Those two teams deserved to be there.

They deserved to get there because of their regular season credentials. They deserved to BE there because of their performance that day.

"The four teams that played yesterday had no business in a bowl game." has nothing to do with the regular season and everything to do with their performance that day.

I ask because yesterday Tech got zero.
That's simply not true. Miami has certainly fallen as a program, and nobody doubts that Miami is nothing like the Miami of old, but don't kid yourself, LaTech's shutting out the Miami Hurricanes in a bowl game got noticed by the casual fans throughout the country. Beating a P5 in a bowl game just garners much more respect from the casual fan than beating a MAC or CUSA team ever will, and LaTech has now two P5 scalps in their current bowl win streak. Don't think for a minute that this win over the Hurricanes of Miami won't help out Tech's recruiting.

Our enemy to the north has now won six bowl wins in six consecutive years. They're currently riding the longest bowl win streak in the nation (though Wisconsin will tie them if they win over Oregon in the Rose Bowl). That's a heck of a run no matter who the opponents were. I looked it up, and in that win streak they've gotten wins over Illinois, Ark St, Navy, SMU, Hawaii, and now Miami. That's bowl wins over teams from the Big 10, Sun Belt, AAC, MWC, and the ACC. We can pretend that nobody's noticed any of this if we want to, but we do so at our own peril. LaTech is a formidable opponent for us when it comes to recruiting. We see evidence of it every year, and we've certainly seen it on full display the field a time or two.
