Yes, 3 years to play his 3 years of eligibility. As an example, incoming HS recruits are 5 for 4. They have 5 years to play 4 years. He graduated HS in 2018, so if he redshirted one year he is 3 for 3. If he played both years of JUCO, then he is 3 for 2.

Lol simple rule of thumb all incoming freshman regardless if they step on any sport surface have 5 years to play 4 years of competition (unless a waiver from the NCAA is given).

After spending countless years on this board I have heard many players described as raw, athletic freaks or “needs a year in the weight room”. This usually means they are not good football players and are unlikely to contribute in a meaningful way for many years.

Kind of like when someone says a kid has a on of potential. Really that is more of an insult and its saying your really not that good or really haven't done anything yet.

We redshirted two highly rated QB's this past season (one from Rummel HS where they play pretty good FB) and our backup in 2019 has two years of eligibility remaining. QB was definitely not a need in this class. Having said all that, I think Holstein will do well at Tech.

Honestly not sure, a ton of competition for number 2, will be interesting to see if Napier decides to get one of the backups playing time like he did with Levi in 18.

Yeah, really curious how that will turn out. Since he was a red shirt last year, we still have him for 4 years, so maybe we won't see as much of him as we will in 2021? My only thought on that is I hope he doesn't get discouraged and moves on. Hate to lose such a talent. But I am very certain we are in good hands with Napier.

I didn't see anything, and have no idea who will be 2nd. My only question was how much playing time he will see.
