Thread: National signing day part 1

Trying to channel my inner Boomer, but with a more logical progression of thought. I understand that they have an advantage being in the AAC, but what else (anything?) is allowing Tulane to pull in a higher recruit rating than us? Tougher admission standards don't seem to be a detractor.

Legendre played this year and is taking a redshirt. He had to learn how to play WR as a former QB (terminology, routes, mechanics, etc.) and it was probably a good decision to have him as a playing RS. He should be good to go next year. On the other hand Peter Leblanc was a WR in HS so he was ready to go early on

Some people are going to be shocked at how good Legendre will be.

No if they read this board.

I’m sure Peter was prepared to play WR in college coming from such a prolific passing offense, where he played the wing as much or more than WR.

To put the depth of this class into perspective. Trey Amos is the 8th highest rated recruit in our class. He is the 28th highest rated player of the SBC signees. This means we have 8 of the 28 highest rated signees in the SBC (30%). Ga State has 4. Troy, App State and stAte have 3 each. Everyone else has 1 or 2.

And Amos is an absolute stud. So either we have an incredible class, or he is grossly underrated.

What I said is paraphrased from Billy Napier's words

Academic reputation and prestige. Not making a call as to the quality of education at eigther school, simply public perception.

Strictly $$$$'s and cents, that scholarship is over $70,000 a year, ours is about $20,000.
