Maybe we are being selective as to who we take or maybe we have sights set on some bigger names that are uncommitted. I don't know. What I do know is that we finished tops in the belt last year. I won't start worrying a ton until later in the fall as we get closer to early signing period. What are some of your rationales then?
I do know that Coach Napier knows what he wants and is a very selective shopper. He will not take someone just to fill out a roster spot. He is very particular about his evaluation of players and, of course, he has not been able to evaluation prospects this year as he would like. I think he would rather keep scholarships for walk-ons than fill out a signing class with recruits he unsure about. I personally think there will be numerous under-evaluated prospects that will fall to schools like us this year and Coach Napier wants to have scholarships available.
R...agree with your assessment and is one of the rationales I figured was possibly happening. The other is they may be waiting on some higher rated guys to fall to them, which will move those commitments nearer to signing dates. And, another could be the fact that, schools that don't have a season this fall, will in fact have a huge first time freshman class that will result in many looking for a school to play ball sooner.
