And if he didn't have that tendency, we might have been able to do something this season.....

....I’ll trust the staff and am very glad he was R shirted......but he is still one of the most dynamic return guys I have seen in his HS classification......the play where he caught the pass and stepped out and almost scored was telling of his upside..he has 4 years left to play!

#1 Return game was no why we lost the game......Not stopping the run up the middle was the reason we lost.

#2 While Brandon might be good, he has returned a total of zero kicks at the collegiate level and you are going to put him in, in the biggest game of the year. And meanwhile, Raymond Calais was All Conference Special teams, because he averages almost 30 yards per return. Not many people in college football do that, not just in the SBC. Chris Smith averages 25 yards per return. I want you to look at college football return numbers, those are very good. I agree Jamarcus might not be that good compared to Brandon, but I would not replace a senior for a true freshman in the biggest game of the year when the kid has not returned one kick all season.

If you think the reason we lost was because instead of starting the ball at the 30 we started at the 25 or 23 or whatever you are sadly mistaken. We lost because we could not stop the run in the middle and we could not get off the field on 3rd down because between running between the tackles and naked bootlegs by Thomas we could not stop them, or screen passes.

I think if we take a vote on this board on what was more important in this game:

The fact that they were 7 of 16 on 3rd and 4th down or kickoff field position. I would venture to say 3rd and 4th down conversion would win. The other thing was we gave up 267 yard rushing. You can't do that, I don't care how good your returns are.

I would say it was a team effort when it comes to the loss in the championship game. But it started on the defensive side of the football and allowing 5 consecutive scoring drives by App State. It was Roberts worst game as a coordinator this season for certain.

We had an opportunity to watch Emani Bailey play in the Texas 5-A Semifinals today. I can't wait for this kid to wear a Cajuns uniform.
Rushed for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns.

He reminds me a lot of Fenroy and Ragas. He caught the ball pretty good out of the backfield also.

I'll try to load pics later.

Did they win? Living in Houston, would love to watch the state championship game, as they are all broadcast live.
