That's the problem. There would be more than ONE potential rider if we coordinated with our Alumni chapter in BR.

    Outrageous to suggest, I know.

The UL alumni/ticket office should literally be calling ppl and begging them to go to the game! Work with each other and get tickets sold, offer bus rides, etc.

There is ZERO reason we shouldn’t be sending 5-10 FULL busses to Mobile!!! It would take some effort, but dang you want to be big time, then freaking act like it!!!!

1-2 Leave Friday and stay until Tuesday.
1-2 Leave Saturday and stay until Tuesday.
1-2 Leave Sunday and stay until Tuesday.
1-3 Leave Monday and stay until Tuesday.
1-3 Leave Monday and come back after game.

Some buses go straight to Mobile and some stop along the way (BR, North Shore, Biloxi, NOLA) and get others. If you offer ppl CHOICES then maybe they would go.

The elephant in the room is that there has been a huge problem with the way the university has connected with alumni over the past couple of decades. It has little to do with athletic and little to do with Martin Hall.

Vermilion parish had not had an alumni meet up in 10 years until the Coastal game ... literally 20 minutes from campus and they could not put forth the effort

There is no way the Alumni Association or ticket office can call and beg people to go nor should they have to. There just isn't enough resources - staff and money, to do what you are proposing. There has been plenty of communication from the Alumni Association, RCAF, etc. about events. In addition to supporting athletic events such as football tailgating (all home games and select away games) , homecoming, providing alumni functions at sporting events such as the Wally Pontiff baseball game and Sunbelt conference tournaments, along with managing the alumni house and facility maintenance. In addition the Alumni association is responsible for supporting university events such as graduation, distinguished donors banquet, outstanding alumni reception, outstanding graduate reception, fundraising events such as the spring gala, camellia tea, bingo and bubbly, and art of giving. Not to mention the day to day activities such as office management, personnel management, budgeting and cost control.
The local club and chapters (such as the Baton Rouge, North Shore, Vermilion, and Houston Ragin Cajun clubs)needs to be the ones who engage their members to push for the things you asked for. Of course all of this takes more funding than the Alumni Association currently has. So if you haven't done so, please make a donation to the Alumni Association Loyalty fund. It will be greatly appreciated
