Hazing has limits and it can go from good natured ribbing to over the line in an instant. That is why it should be avoided, especially regarding forced drinking. But the attachment to the university by students involved in Greek life is very undervalued by the current administration. IMHO
Hazing is wrong. Period. I was in a frat. Not once have I ever thought more and bigger frats were the answer to anything.

That was cringe worthy. It's obvious he hasn't been to a game in a while.

Where is this from Runner? We need to address stupidity on all fronts.

Some have mentioned the oil industry downturn as a reason and I don’t buy it. Retail sales are on a record pace in Lafayette, restaurants are always packed and I’ve never lived in an area in which so many people purchase new vehicles and 50k+ trucks at that. The job market may not be great in Lafayette but people are still spending money. Cajun games are a much better entertainment value than most things around.

It’s a scene follow the crowd town as previosly stated and until Cajun Field is the place to be seen our attendance will be inconsistent. All we can do is keep winning and building that tradition of success. Stay the path. It also wouldn’t hurt if we slayed some P5 giants every once in a while and played more regional teams at home. Have any of our opponents brought much to Cajun Field all year? At least Troy had a band last week. Like I’ve said before our conference does us no favors in regards to attendance.

The drop in Fraternity/sororities definitely has had an impact. When I was a student in the early 2000’s even though the teams were poor I still remember decent Greek attendance and some of our more “lively” fans were from frats.

    Geaux Cajuns!

    The focus is off base.

Lafayette should never be mentioned in marketing sports.

Lafayette became Lafayette by marketing itself not as Lafayette but as "The Hub City."

Hub City to what? The answer to that question is where 100% of the marketing effort should be, and Lafayette will reap 100% of the rewards.

So many people are driving $55K+ vehicles because they can finance them for 8 years!!...I was shocked to learn so many people do this, per the last salesman I dealt with earlier this year.

It was from a post on the Sunbelt Conference Facebook page.

More and bigger, maybe not, but not disappearing either.

I was also in a fraternity, one that (even at the chapter level at that time anyway) did not believe in hazing of any form. Hazing should be deservedly relegated to the same status as bullying. It's all about leadership though. It only takes one or two bad apples to ruin the whole bushel.

I know fraternities have a reputation for hazing members going way back. Heck, it took me forever to convince my wife that there wasn't hazing that I just wouldn't tell her about. As I mentioned before, I don't know all the answers, but I feel that getting the Greeks to be more active on campus would help to improve attendance. Jmo

Well, just left the Albertsons here in Brousssrd. As I was buying those cheap UL rain ponchos, 4 others were doing the same. They all said this is there first game and heard we about to be ranked. Glad to see grass roots ( albeit) small scale taking hold.
