I did not read the article because I am not fan of Tim's writing style. However, I can answer Dr. Maggard's question. Our support will improve when people realize they help the area more by being at Cajun Field vs watching other schools on TV. With all the media attention on the P5 schools, it will take a lot more effort to convince the casual fans of that. Now I don't expect LSU to be nearly as strong next season without Burrow as that guy is a pro playing in college. Once they get knocked out of the playoff race next season, they may not be must watch TV and it could indirectly help us.
there might be more to the story....
could be my own fault for not paying attn, but ironically i just realized how good a season the g5s collectively are having.... there are 8 g5 teams with 2 or fewer losses.(zero from CUSA)...... i knew about the increased number of wins over p5 (but havent heard any official stats how it stacks up to previous years) but these win-loss records seemed to have gone under the radar.
is it by design, has there been radio silence from the media? seems more news if one team is higher above the others but with this many neck and neck seems more exciting and should have been more newsworthy?
The only interest from the media goes to the AAC, Boise, and giant killing App State. That’s not unusual.
