Poor start, but we have picked it up. Need to stop turning it over in the second half. We will be in this game if we do.
Poor finish before the half. They turn it over 3 or 4 times and we don't capitalize.
No field goals the last four minutes. Two missed layups.
Look, we’ll get through this. UC Irvine came out with a real chip on their shoulder because they know we’re the standard for mid-majors.
We can't stop Tommy Rutherford down low. But no one has all season, the guy is shooting 74.3% from the field.
He is 5-5 vs us. Without him they are shooting 11 for 25 or 44%. They are 6-14 from 3 PT land we are shooting a pretty good 4-9. We are 7-10 from the FT line they are only 2-2.
We need to find a way to slow down Rutherford and we probably win the game, otherwise we are done. Rutherford is a monster down low and we don't seem to have players who can stop him.
I'm speaking of using Wilson, Temple, Dou and Tirus Smith in the open court to create turnovers with their athleticism. They are undersized already but if we can create some turnovers or just create delays in getting the ball down to the post they could be effective.
