I have heard that NOLA is NOT required to have the champ this season. That rule was dumb last year.
We’re likely going to NOLA no matter what. Unless some miracle happens.
According to a press release put out by the SBC in May the champion goes to NOLA unless they are chosen for an NY6 game.
NOLA is always a good bowl for the Cajuns. Would be especially true this year. A nationally televised game on Saturday night @ 8:00 P.M. The only other game on will be the Las Vegas bowl which kicks off at 6:30.
This is exactly what the New Orleans bowl wants.
Cajuns win tonight and the. Go on to beat app state. Cajuns would be 11-2
La Tech wins today. Tech wins the CUSA championship and finishes 10-3
No better setup for the New Orleans bowl the an 11-2 UL vs 10-3 La Tech matchup.
Too early to worry about this...2 games left, better focus on those for now, cause if the Cajuns can't beat App, you guys will be busing to Mobile or worse Montgomery...
if it were between arizona and orlando id choose arizona. besides just liking the place more in general, probably easier to get better travel/hotel deals at relatively last minute and thus a bigger crowd.
as far as AAC one of their bowls is on campus at naval academy. or used to be?
one upside of mobile however, is being in the game later than almost all. the early games seem to run together and some people miss them, not realizing bowl season started, but being later than every other team’s game must have some lore and a few days of no football prior to, to gear back up into longing to see a game... (might be a stretch but could even try to sell the last man standing narrative)....PLUS WAAAAYYYY more practices!!
it says cusa champ chooses its bowl
they need to do so,ething about the independence bowl, only twice in the last 8 years has it had the two assigned tiein conferences represented. taking an unfilled tiein could be an opportunity but almost always relegates us to a later decision. they need to change the affiliation to something they can actually fill, then the sights could be set sooner on that being a goal for a destination.
granted the pay out could drop?
usm would bring more fans to New Orleans than tech would, but Im pretty sure usm is going to get screwed by the new cusa rule
