FB Attendance: Complaints, Observations, Fixes (merged)

A FB post from someone who gets it...andthey aren't grads or from the area...lets not make much of her school colors comment...

We moved to Lafayette last year around football season. We are from Athens Georgia and are die hard UGA fans but have attended many games. The stadium, atmosphere and prices are amazing and we could not believe more people don't attend. To have this in your back yard and not support it is hard to wrap my mind around. My husband has attended several of the baseball games as well. When we have family visit and there is a game we always take them. Great team and it doesn't hurt that there colors are red and black as well. 😊

Married dudes get hit on more than single dudes.
Employed individuals get more job offers than unemployed.

People want what they can't have. Just look at the Tigue in 2014. Absolute madness in the days leading up to the Regionals and Supers. People were in a panic: "OMG, I might not get my tickets; therefore I MIGHT NOT GET SEENNNNNN!!"

This situation is so Lafayette, it hurts. Just let it be known, you're not invited. They'll be tearing down the gates to get in.

I don't disagree, but there's a segment of casual fans out there that would be persuaded to attend with a higher caliber slate of oppenents.

Drop us down into the Southland, even fewer fans would be in attendance. It is what it is. I think our conference is part of the problem.

As a general discussion, I agree that the conference is an issue. Nobody gets fried up to play half of the teams in the SBC. However, this season is an outlier. Can't blame the conference when you're chasing historical achievement.

Are the games blacked out locally? Does the university or the conference have the power to accomplish that? I mean, what's the use of having 25,000-odd empty seats if it's freely available everywhere in town?
