There are hints from the administration that they are progressing with this hire quickly. I'm thinking your could see someone hired by mid march. It makes sense, we have to have someone come in early who can recruit for 2010. Remember, we have a lot of frontcourt needs and we only had 2 guys committed and I'm not even sure whether they are keeping their commit here now that Lee is gone. There is plenty of work to be done and not a lot of time to do it. They will hire quickly.
because before this season, i heard several people, probably remnants from DR. A's tenure as president, that had some very unsatisfactory things to say about him. i think that now that his resume is a little more extensive he may be one of the better choices we will have. i want to see who the other candidates are first before i go saying he will be the one to hire.
I still say we offer the kitchen sink to Billy Kennedy, give him the keys, and see what happens.. just my $.02
Nobody would argue with you( Not even me) but I don't know if the timeframe will allow. Supposedly, they want to proceed quickly since we have to recruit for this year and they have mentioned being done with the decision by late March. With him in the tourney, I don't know if he'd be given permission to speak with us about possibly openings while preparing his team. I would love to see him here though....
Well, he certainly comes with no more baggage than Floyd, and supposedly Floyd is a frontrunner initially assuming he gets the ok with the NCAA. I have no problems with Pierre and he's a logical candidate. He's wanted this job for years and served well here under Fletcher. He recruits like nobodys business and he's valued across the country as a great assistant. I'm just concerned as to why he has never been given the reigns yet, it seems like there is something that AD's are seeing.
In no perticular order Butch, Floyd, and Kennedy are my top three choices. I think all would be great hires and all have what it takes to get us back to where we used to be not too long ago or even higher.
