Cajuns receive 1 vote in the AP poll
Looking at the teams above us, unless there is total chaos in the AAC i do not believe we will be ranked even after beating ULM and App. We should be, but we wont.
www.google.com is your friend.
So. Games of interest to us this week:
#22 App. St. (10-1) @ *TROY (5-6) *for obvious reasons.
#17 *Memphis (10-1) vs #18 Cincinatti (10-1)
#19 Iowa (8-3) @ *Nebraska (5-6)
#20 Boise St. (10-1) @ *Colorado St. (4-7)
#21 Oklahoma St. (8-3) vs #6*Oklahoma (10-1)
#23 *VaTech (8-3) vs Virgina (8-3)
#24 Navy (8-2) @ *Houston (4-7) *Navy plays Army next weekend.
#25 USC (8-4) *Bye
#26 Iowa St. (7-4) @ *K-State (7-4)
#27 Virgina (8-3) vs *Virginia Tech (8-3)
#28 Texas A&M (8-3) @ #1*LSU (11-0)
#29 AFA (9-2) vs *Wyoming (7-4)
#30 SMU (9-2) vs *Tulane (6-5)
#31 ASU (6-5) vs *Arizona (4-7)
#32 LOUISIANA (9-2) vs ULM (5-6)
I put a primary asterisk next to the team we need to win. For Vatech vs VA, it makes sense that since VaTech is already in the top 25, a loss would only move them down and VA up creating more log jam for us. A win would knock VA out of our way. I know pulling for Tulane isn't the best idea, but it gives us the best chance to move up. The list is based on the AP poll. In the coaches poll we are tied for #30 with SMU. Some games are a long shot (COLO St, Troy, Houston), but anything can happen (ASU beat Oregon last week). While I don't think there will be enough movement even with the outcome above to move us into the AP TOP 25 after this weekend, I do feel we can get into the TOP 25 of the Coaches Poll with the above mentioned results.
Why is ASU getting such mad respect at 6-5? Can't be just the Oregon win.
ps Thanks for the breakdown GrantVB
