Looking at the teams above us, unless there is total chaos in the AAC i do not believe we will be ranked even after beating ULM and App. We should be, but we wont.

Starting the season highly respected is the key.

Starting spot is so important for these polls. We started around 97ish this year and had too much ground to make up without a p5 win. Next year we will start in a prime spot to do damage with enough wins.

I put a primary asterisk next to the team we need to win. For Vatech vs VA, it makes sense that since VaTech is already in the top 25, a loss would only move them down and VA up creating more log jam for us. A win would knock VA out of our way. I know pulling for Tulane isn't the best idea, but it gives us the best chance to move up. The list is based on the AP poll. In the coaches poll we are tied for #30 with SMU. Some games are a long shot (COLO St, Troy, Houston), but anything can happen (ASU beat Oregon last week). While I don't think there will be enough movement even with the outcome above to move us into the AP TOP 25 after this weekend, I do feel we can get into the TOP 25 of the Coaches Poll with the above mentioned results.

Arizona State is a really good team. They are just very young and haven’t found that killer instinct that allows them to close out games. They will be in the PAC 12 championship game in ‘21 or ‘22.

Yup, I thought when they hired Herm Edwards that it would be a disaster. He has turned them into a force to be reckoned with in the future.
