They have signed, but like with most instances where a coach is fired or not retained, they would be given the option to opt out of their commitment if they choose to.

They can opt out, but if they do, EVEN if the school gives them a release, they have to sit out a year.

We have some history, no doubt. However, we don't have bigtime bucks and that is what will make it hard to snag him. Schools like Auburn and other BCS schools who can pay him 500-700k to coach there will have the upper hand. On the other hand, his daughter just graduated from Comeaux high and obviously has local ties to this area. That keeps us in the hunt along with our willingness to finally get out and offer some serious dollars to a quality coach. It will be interesting.

    Josh,

Are Brandon Dison, Randell Daigle, and LaRyan Gary working toward the 80% completion of classwork to be eligible next year? Can LaRyan get a medical redshirt which would given him two years left? Just curious!

All three were on schedule to earn their final year back and are expected back for their fourth year. However, it is uncertain as to how Gary is/will recover from the leg injury and what type of player he will be. The medical redshirt thing is interesting though and I'm unsure as to his eligibility.

Last I checked, all three were on pace to hit that 80 percent mark. But my sources doubt whether Gary and Dison will ever be healthy enough to play DI ball again.

Gary would not be eligible for a medical redshirt because he sat out as a freshman due to academics.

Late in the season, Coach Lee said on his radio show that LaRyan Gary was occasionally practicing with the team. I expect he will be back next season. Now he may not be as effective as he was prior to the injury.
