Sources say that UL's other fall signee, Jeffery Reese, was contacted about the coaching change last night.

Josh, in your opinion, how likely is Tim Floyd here?

Likely here as in right now to meet with Carr or as in getting/taking the job?

    Getting/taking the job.

Just realized how poorly I worded that.

No worries. He certainly could get the job if the NCAA clears him of all wrongdoing and agrees to salary terms. Right now, my sources are split on whether he actually will be cleared.

The school is going to hear from even more candidates now that the decision to not retain Lee has been made official. Everyone pushing for Floyd could be doing so premature. There might be another name that's an even better fit. While the school wants to work quickly, at the same time I'd expect the administration to make sure that it's not rushing their decision and ultimately miss out on a highly qualified candidate.

Very unlikely. Too much baggage even if hes cleared

Who do you think the Cajuns should go after, Oh?

Now that Doc and Blanco are retired, let's bring back Beryl and Tom. Any NCAA show-cause stipulations are BOUND to have expired by now.

Seriously, a new coach needs to have ZERO skeletons, experience in bringing back a mid major program from the pits, above average PR & podium skills, NO TOOTH PICK USAGE and the ability to send players who wear their shorts down around thier hips packing. They should also need to recognize the difference between street ball and basketball. Finally, they need to have connections with a barber who can keep the locks unbraided and short.

why not throw Bo Lamar's name out there. one of the best players UL has ever had, played on the professional level, could probably do the same thing that Isaiah Thomas will do for FIU, and would bring back many of the local fan base that remember the glory days. just a thought

No question Butch Pierre. He can recruit, ticket sales would triple, and he would bring excitement to this program something that has been lacking for over 10 yrs.

If the search committee wants a person who has head coach experience then that would be the dumbest thing they could do. Just because you dont have head coaching experience doesnt mean you cant coach.

If Butch applies for the job its a no brainer you hire him.

Mr. Walker mentioned today that no candidate will be discounted for not being a head coach in the past.

On another note, I spoke with Robert Lee a few minutes ago. Stayed tuned later for his comments about his future and the UL program.
