I know VO is not a fan of Broadhead and I realize that the women's team is not where any of us want it to be, but where the team was when he took over and where he has gotten us to is better (with the exception of last year, due to injuries and other issues).
Remember J Kelly Hall last coached this team in 2006-2007 season, where we went 26-9 and lost to Marquette in the first round of the NCAA tournament. After that the team was a train wreck.
2007-08, the team went 8-22
2008-09, the team went 4-27
2009-10, the team went 10-22
2010-11, the team went 11-19
2011-12, the team went 7-23
Broadhead took over in 20012-13, and he built a better program, granted middle of the pack SBC team but much better than it was until 2018-19.
2012-13, the team went 10-21 in his first season
2013-14, the team went 14-16
2014-15, the team went 23-12 and won the Women's CBI tournament, lost in the SBC SF.
2015-16, the team went 25-10 and won the Women's CBI tournament, lost in the SBC SF.
2016-17, the team went 20-11 and lost in the SBC Championship game and chose not to go to a lower level tournament.
2017-18, the team went 17-16
2018-19, the team lost 2 potential starters in Kimberly Burton and Jasmine Thomas before the season started.
I think this will be a .500 season or better for coach Broadhead. I think what he has done while not JKL like, has been very good and I think considering he only has 1 senior on this team and
Brandi Williams a Sophomore is leading the team in PPG
Ty'Reona Doucet a Junior is 2nd
Skyler Goodwin a Junior is 3rd
Andrea Cornoyer a Sophomore is 4th
Makayia Hallmon a Freshman is 5th
Jasmine Thomas a Junior who did not play last year is 6th
Caira Wren a freshman is 7th
Kimberly Burton a junior that did not play in 2018 is 8th
Diamon Morrison a sophomore is 9th
Alexandria Goodly a freshman is 10th
Kendall Bass, the only Senior is 11th
Of the 11 players listed above each one of them has played in all 4 of the first 4 games and the player that has scored the least of these 11 is the only Senior. That tells me that we have the potential to grow this team over the next couple of years.
