Note, the coaching staff did not come close to considering allowing him to enter the game tonight. Wesley was rusty tonight but the minutes he was on court allowed some much needed rest to the regulars. Lafayette also contributed in his 3 minutes. I noticed he had 3 rebounds, a blocked shot, and a basket during that time. The guy who likely will end up taking a medical redshirt is Javone Lowery. Still on crutches at game tonight.
Well, I thought Maggard made it clear awhile back he mirrored Robe’s rules.

Nice win tonight. Very pleased with the run at the end and the free throw shooting. We needed this one as we head on the road for the next few weeks.

We did have plenty of mistakes in the first half to cover up including a stagnant half court offense and too many turnovers. Encouraging that several players knocked them down and even the front end of the one and one was hit twice. I do give coaches credit for one thing and that was sitting Dou Gueye for some bad decisions offensively. While he was out we did struggle on the boards against a bigger team. When he came back in he was more in control and helped against the press as well as at the line. Also, this was Kobe Julien's best game in every aspect. Moved well all over the court and showed no ill effects from the injury. Need that Kobe to show up more frequently for this to not be a rough season. Finally, I do expect PJ Hardy to play again. He would not have been allowed to practice yesterday and dress tonight if there was not a plan for him to return at some point.
I agree, I could see with the injury scenario why they would invite him back to practice only. However if the intention is for him to be suspended for the full season he would never be allowed to dress and sit on the bench during a game.

Wesley honestly helped set the tone for us last night. Kid is tough and a true PG. I hope he's able to play the rest of the season because we could use his energy and leadership.

Julien is savvy as a scorer but he needs to improve his defense, at least at times.

    Wilson played really well again.

If/when Wilson develops an outside shot watch out!!

Wilson is going to be such a good player. On defense he was inches away from having another 5+ steals last night. On offense when he wants to be aggressive he can get to the rim at will. If he keeps improving and becomes more aggressive on the offensive end, he will be an all conference player by seasons end

Yep but he's got plenty of time to do it. We just need to provide pieces around he and Julien.

BTW, don't know if you guys saw or not but Wilson's big steal and dunk make Sportscenter's Top 10 last night.

Also don't know if you guys saw but Georgia State went into Duke and gave them all they could handle. Lost by 11 I believe.

A lot has changed in the two weeks since I made this statement but I stand by it.

So its only going to take 1 regular season huh? Whew, that's a relief.

There is a chance it comes sooner that that. I expect to see more consistent play a few games into conference play. It may take a little time to incorporate Smith and Hardy into the lineup when they return. Both those guys will make us better. One more point about the free throw shooting. For you football guys, 22 straight is the equivalent of picking up 3rd and 1 ten straight times. Can't emphasize enough how impressive that stat is.
