But now, I'm just sad. Disappointed in where we are. Regardless of circumstances, we're just in a major rut. Injuries, roster overhaul, scheduling struggles... It's just bad.

Perpetual purgatory. I don't care whose fault it is at this point. I'm just sick and tired of it.
It does feel like we're on a purgatory roll in basketball. Told my wife I'm thankful for her company after the McNeese game. It's kind of like baseball last year...injuries and fought trying to get over the .500 hump for the longest. Basketball however, .500 may be a dream with the 8 we have. Smith can be great, but he's one player.

We'll keep going to the games. My disappointment in UL hoops is no longer gender specific.

Look at the bright side, anything can happen in the SBC tournament. Sadly, that’s the underdog’s view.

I know these guys are playing a much lower level, but a heads up about a few former Cajuns:

Kadavion Evans is averaging 17.8 points 6.4 rebounds and 4 assists a game at LSU Shreveport

Jordan Adebutu is averaging 6 points per game 2 rebounds and 1.25 assist per game at LSU Alexandria

Jeremy Hayes, I can't find any stats on him at Angelo State a ___ school

    Jerekus Davis--Averaging 13 points, 6 rebounds for UT-Tyler Basketball

Eli Mounton--Can't find any stats on him for LSU-E basketball

RJ Gladney--Can not find any stats for RJ at Angelo State

Roydell Brown--Averaging 7.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game at McNeese

Justin Miller--Averaging 9 points and 3 rebounds per game at Detroit Mercy

Elijah McCoy--Can not find any statistics for him at Cal Poly Pomona

I know these guys were at best roll players at UL, but man we could use some bodies right now.

Thought K. Evans had a substantial back injury that caused him to not be able to play basketball anymore???

Evidently his "back" problems sounded more like 'I won't be back'

Turb, I know your just trying to make a joke but he actually stayed in school here for another 2 years after giving up his scholarship and got a degree. I’m assuming he is playing as a grad transfer now and I was surprised to see it as well.

I know my back is better at 59 than it was at 25.

I also know not to test it.

Looks like those two years did wonders for his.

Thanks for the post. We play against Miller and Detroit Mercy later in the season.

I did not see the game last night but from what I've seen from Dou thus far, he's going to help us tremendously inside in regards to defending the paint and rim and rebounding. I heard he was doing a lot more ball handling last night but I hadn't seen that from him up to this point. I think what you saw from him was someone trying to do too much and considering the current healthy talent we have on this team right now, there could be worse things to have.

I watched Miller play against NC State the other night. Same old song and dance.

The amazing thing is we’re accepting this line of BS. You don’t do a 2/1 with the Lamers for lots of reasons, but there’s several AAC, Big East, P5 schools you absolutely do whatever it takes.

Talk to the AD about the policy. From what I understand, he is the one not in favor of them. I also would do 2 for 1's with certain schools.

While fatigue likely played a part, abandoning movement of the ball and setting screens in exchange for one on one, isolation basketball caused UL to lose like it did. Even the announcers commented on that. TCU plays a beautiful game while we force shots, have no ball movement, everybody stands around watching one guy try to take it to the basket with no rebounds on the missed shot time and time again. It was painful to watch us get schooled by a much better coached team. And, turnover after turnover by Gueye who thinks he is a point guard. We played a great opening 5 minutes or so similar to TCU. Once we abandoned that, it was all over. No adjustments made by Marlin to return to what was successful and the game got out of hand. How many times have we seen this over the years? Very frustrating.

HC, this is a common theme with our program. Last night was nothing new.

I would do a 2 for 1 with just about any P5 team. If Maggard is not in favor of this, shame on him.

I think the problem is a contractual obligation (with Learfield?) to have a certain number of home games, which beco es difficult or imposible to meet some years if we do 2 for 1s. Not sure about that, but i seem to recall havingseen something about that earlier.
