I agree with MAT here. I will go beyond that and say most sports are becoming more focused than even a regional basis. People follow their own team and little else. Being able to watch your own team every game contributes to that. Talking heads on the networks saying same thing regularly also contribute to that perspective. Major events are of course the exception and the LSU vs Bama game was one of those.
We having a historic season where we finally have a legit shot at winning out first ever conference championship in the sunbelt and we fighting about where our coach and AD will leave to. Throw in negative nancies who would prefer being miserable as opposed to aspiring to dream and I wonder how many people are actually enjoying this season. Because it seems our success this season has caused more stress for some than enjoyment.
To paraphrase "This has been the most relevant, interesting SunBelt in the history of the football playing league as currently construct. If the Cajuns and Neers play for an SBC title, it will also be the most relevant, interesting and nationally paid attention to game in SBC football history."
