Thread: Coaches who may be a hot commodity

Default Coaches who may be a hot commodity

All of the speculation so far has centered on losing Napier. I don't think that will happen this year. I am more concerned about losing (what may be) the best DC we have in many years, Ron Roberts.

    Am I just being paranoid?

No, I would think that he will soon have offers. But, he was already a HC, and was pretty good at, and I think he gave it up to come here to be a part of something special......and from what I understand they really love living in LFT. So I would think it would have to be an especially good deal to lure him away so soon.

Not sure if I'm remembering this correctly. He was our second choice too, right?

I get that part and maybe he does not want to be a HC, but what if a P5 needs a DC? I get it, it does no good to worry about it but I was just curious if anyone else had had those thoughts.

It’s definitely a Matt Deggs type situation. We’ve got an outstanding assistant coach that will be coveted by other schools and it’s hard to know just how instrumental he’s been in our success thus far. In the case of Deggs, the contribution was invaluable.

I think we should be prepared to raise his pay after this season.

Since his salary is already $100K more than Robe's, can we at least wait till mid-season.

We are allowing 17 ppg..leading the conference...I’d say it’s pretty easy to see what Roberts has done

Anyone recall what Napier’s buyout is on the new contract?
