Thread: Coaches who may be a hot commodity

Billy is a down-to-earth guy. He and Ali are good people with small children in a good school, in a good neighborhood, in a good town, and they have their heads screwed on right. When they move, the consideration will be family first. He came here to build something, to prove something, but at the end of the day they put their children ahead of his career. That’s their value system. He won’t be here forever, but uprooting the kids will not be something they take lightly. That’s my sense. Oh, and when he goes, he will take Rob with him. Those two guys are on a mission here at Louisiana. This won’t be their last stop together. Their next gig won’t be a money grab. That is not their motivation. Enjoy what they are building. Their tenure here will be meaningful for all of us.

That is all good and fine, but no matter what math you use, $3mm or $4mm over $1mm covers up most of what you say here.

What Billy has done isn’t anything short of a miracle. He came in after the best players had already committed to wherever they were going. He needed three classes to get back to full scholarship limits. He’s had one when everybody was his best pick.

And because of this, Saban and Sweeny in the background with those same telephones that got Napier hired here and all of the upcoming openings, Maggard just as soon get to work now.

Napier just signed an extension with a very hefty buyout. I can't imagine any team willing to pay that much on a relatively unproven coach,

The one name I am waiting to come up is Mike Gundy. He is the ultimate c0ck tease. I can see him leveraging Arkansas and Florida State against Okie State ... again.

I heard a rumor that a plane with an Arkansas license plates landed at LFT this morning at 10:00 AM. The plane had a vanity plate that said "HOGSRME."

I cannot reveal the name of my source, but it is a close relative of one of the main members of the janitorial staff who is in charge of all of the cleaning of all of the toilets at LFT, so I know it could not be a bunch of ____.

And you did not even know airplanes had license plates. (They are tucked away under the wings.)
