Yes, I am thinking more about how much cash we might have to pay someone else.

My wish would be Roberts be the next HC if Napier does leave. I think it's easier to get a OC than a great defensive mind.

I have no favorites when Napier gets a bigger gig, but I gotta hope Maggard is still here, and not consulting the RP brain trust.

Just remember Roberts was only somewhat successful at SLU. Maybe he can be better here, but...

No offense to Roberts but I would rather maggard do a nation wide search and find a young and hungry coach

Let’s just do what we can to keep the band together. Roberts may be in the conversation for other gigs, but he looks like he’s got a good thing going where he is. He was a head coach and had a little success, but what he’s done with the defense in 1.5 years is incredible. The D in Huds last year was nauseating.

Maybe Willie Taggard if we’re tossing names out.

Yes, he might be able to throw some seed money at the new stadium rebuild.

I haven’t heard of an opportunity AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW, that I think Napier would be interested in. This is based upon the ADs making these hires. I don’t think money alone will attract Billy, it has to be an AD that he trusts to get things done as well.

This could be my 2nd addition to ‘Totally wrong’, but I believe Coach Napier and at least 80% of the staff is back next season.

Coach Nap spoke one day on the transitions of the staff with a view that all were probably leaving because they are good and will get more money offered......but knowing this the staff set up is set up for members to move up with a thorough knowledge of the entire system......now we just need HIM to stay....but the system is in place for a new head guy to move up!

Was that conversation at the QB Club are one held in private. I don't recall hearing that. Eventually good coaches move on if they get better compensation elsewhere. However in the short term we have plenty of people who stayed last year because of the believe we are building something special here. Rob Sale turned down the job of OL coach at Alabama to stay here. Others have stayed because they don't want to keep moving from year to year. I bet we don't lose as many as some fear in the off season.

.....It was in a more private setting, but included the use of associates as a factor of great supplemental help for coordinators and positional.....also the associates’ knowledge positions them to move up to the position of a departed position coach!
