Perrin is the only other lefty pitcher, that might be why.

So if we only have a couple of freshman on the team, what happens to our recruiting class? Do we hope they return after a year of juco? Seems like a bold strategy, cotton.

If they were on scholarship, the freshman have to stay 2 years at JC or can only come back to the Cajuns after their freshman year. If not on scholarship, they can take a one time transfer without sitting out.

Why is Batty a surprise?

Because he has failed to throw strike 1 consistently. Hes got decent stuff just not what i would call a strike thrower. He had a good outing in thibideaux last year and never repeated it
