I didnt know they had a D1Softball site until today. Good preview
Probably had two options red shirt or burn a year of eligibility being a pinch runner this year. The kid wanted to play. Coach Glasco recruits like Coach Robe did, he recruits someone to take your place, which means stiff competition. We aren't getting the same kind of athlete that Lotief was getting. Mike recruited kids by position and most were very raw, he just coached them up. The athlete that Glasco is getting on campus is the kids that can play anywhere that they are needed, the same way Coach Candrea recruits kids. Julie Rawls is our best outfielder and has never player catcher before, she moves to catcher and becomes an all-american. Looks for Rawls to have a even better year behind the plate and in the box. Tores will be a huge relief to keep Julie strong all year long.
Callie Martin has quit. She was projected to start in left field. I think Tores will take that spot or maybe Talley.
Now that Callie Martin,Taylor Fawcett have left the program and Alderick has been added since fall ball the lineup will have a different look. Anyone want to take a shot at the opening day lineup????
Positions
Catcher - Julie Rawls/Geana Torres
Pitcher - Summer/Megan
1B - Carrie Boswell
2B - Kaitlyn Alderink/Brittany Holland
SS - Alissa Dalton
3B - Melissa Mayeux/Brittany Holland
LF - Sarah Hudek
CF - Raina O'Neal
RF - Taylor Roman
DH - Bailey Curry
Batting
1. Kaitlyn Alderink
2. Alissa Dalton
3. Carrie Boswell
4. Julie Rawls
5. Sarah Hudek
6. Melissa Mayeux
7. Taylor Roman
8. Bailey Curry
9. Raina O'Neal
The batting lineup is a guess. Positions are, for the moment, likely. Brittany Holland is competing for second and third base. Carrie is at first because her bat is ahead of Kourtney and her glove is ahead of Bailey. For that matter, her bat is ahead of most everyone on the team. I'm not sure where Mia Camuso fits in the picture, but she has to be in the mix somewhere.
Remember, you asked for opening day lineup. There are two games on opening day. 8 more days.
