    Default Softball Intersquad

    Any thoughts from last nights intersquad game? I thought Boswell, Roman, and Tores looked very good. Summer was in mid season form. Holland got back on the field, looks like Mia Casumo is still not playing, does anyone have a update on her injury? Also didnt see Hudek.

    fairly good turnout at Lamson last night - wonderful to be in that environment.

    Random thoughts:

    Bailey hit a home run on a line drive to the top of the left field bleachers that made me say reflexively "Good Lord" - was an Elkins-like home - also, Bailey started at shortstop last night over Alissa D. last night (lol - Alissa was late for game and went right to shortstop when she got there)

    Geana Torres plays a good catcher, and has a lot of pop in her bat. Gonna be an integral part of the team this year.

    Fun watching the fresh!!! Madison Garay looked strong with good up-and-down on her pitches - has great upside with a year under Coach Mike and Coach Taran Alvalo. Taylor Fawcett hit a home run off of Summer, and showed really good speed in the outfield. Taylor Roman is a special athlete. Sidney Hebert moves surprisingly well at 3rd base and, with the professional coaching she will get from Coach Prejean, could be a good one.

    Have a really good feeling with Melissa Mayeux at 3rd base - good maturity and elite arm, and will benefit with facing really good competition early this upcoming season.

    Dalton, Raina, Summer, Hudek looked to be in mid-season form. Rawlings is a leader. Callie Martin and Geana Torres showed SEC form

    Y'all come out this PM at 4 o'clock - probably see Kleist vs. Casey Dixon.

    For you die-hards (like me) on Women's Softball, Coach Glasco gave an in-depth interview on FastPitchNews.com podcast:

    Great analysis...this team will have lots of depth in every phase of the game. It’s going to be very competitive to stay in the lineup this season, which makes us even more dangerous, because if you cool off a little there is always talent waiting for their chance to play. Like Coach Prejean told me last night, we just need to avoid the injury bug. Going to be an exciting season.

    Good showing by both the team and fans. Interesting to see the coaches in the stands instead of the dugouts.

    Additional random thought:
    Courtney hit the ball really hard last night;
    Really great to see Holland at 2nd base;
    Kandra had good velocity on her pitches;
    Carrie Boswell made good contact at bat (will be hard to keep her bat out of the lineup this Spring), and did well at 2nd base;
    Kendall Talley belongs at this high level softball;
    and I really love the low concession prices!!!!,
