I'll never forget the radio show with Jay when he asked Farmer about the funding for some project, maybe it was the baseball stadium or football stadium, and his response was, " did you or I win the lottery?" I fell on the floor when I heard that. Couldn't believe an athletic director said that.
He’s grown since then as a president. I don’t want to lose Maggard, but at the end of the day everything is happening under T-joes watch

No comes to a program like ours to stay forever. They use this as a stepping stone. So if he gets another HC job that would mean we are successful.

Just saying, he needs to move before year 5 or he will end up selling insurance, real estate, owning a bar etc. Not a put down as most of these former coaches are wonderful people and assets to our community just that their stint at USL/UL was the highlight of their coaching career.
Spot on. I really hope Napier is at a P5 school in 3-5 years.

Evans did not have success at San Francisco, but there was a time when that was one of the most coveted jobs in the country.

Louisiana is a destination not a pit stop.

Seriously, I am continually surprised at how many coaches stay here or come back when they deal it over.

You better believe coaches are using this in the recruiting game.
Our coaches have admitted as much. I recently asked one of the assistants at the QB Club what is the main "negative" recruiting ploy our competitors use against us. Answer was, "Coach Napier will not be at UL long". They went on to say Coach is 100 percent committed to his current job. I actually think if competitors use that line against us, it may backfire. Basically telling recruits our coach is better than theirs. I also think that in today's world, a victory over a P5 school may be necessary to get a P5 job. Neil Brown had to do that to move on from Troy.

I may be in the minority here, but I think he leaves if he gets an offer from a school in the AAC on up. He’d be a fool to stick around and we’d be foolish to expect that he will.

There will be another major shakeup of conferences again in 3-5 years and the landscape will be completely different than it currently is. If we can get the stadium renovations in the works within the next 18-24 months we will be in pretty good shape.

You are definitely in the minority, but doesn't mean you are wrong. I don't agree that ANY AAC school could lure him, but like I said, it would have to be with one that has a vision and path to get to the P5.

AAC has not only had teams consistently make the NY 6 bowl games, but win them too. I still don't think he leaves for another G5 job, but it isn't out of the question.

I'm thinking the right jobopens and he is gone. He would be a fool not to listen to any offer. There is no money left in this town. Any money that is goes to Baton Rouge. FYI Hud still has his house for sale, last time I checked.. The asking price was "make offer". That should tell you all you need to know. I would think any stadium renovation is a dream right now with the lack of money in this town.
