Everything is happening under Mike Alden’s watch. TJoe finally gave in and commissioned the changes, but let’s not fool ourselves. I’m in record as saying TJoe’s legacy will be that he saved the athletic program, but it’s because he realized he needed to hire professionals.
Let’s not forget, Billy and Fam really like working for Bryan Maggard. In fact, all of our coaches have something in that regard. Never underestimate the power of a good boss. Maggard will undoubtedly help keep coaches here a little longer. I think Napier is here at least until the end of next year. Which is good news for us, because 2020 could possibly be the year Louisiana arrives on the national college football scene.
The quickest way to go from the hot name to hot garbage is to fail at an AAC or lower P5 program.
I think he knows he's got a pretty good set up here. He doesn't have to bite at the low hanging fruit. Unless we get a magical invite to the Big12, he'll leave when the right job is offered, and that ain't in Starkvegas or Memphis State.
