Danny Kaspar. Phenomenal coach at Stephen F Austin. Went to the NCAA last year. One of the reasons that the Southland is a better basketball league than the Sunbelt right now.

Not two years ago. But if Sam Houston wins the league tourney. Southland should have a higher seeds than Sunbelt champ. Coaches in that league are strong: Bob Marlin, Danny Kaspar, Perry Clark, Brooks Thompson at UTSA,

Perry Clark? Where's he coaching now?? I guess we're looking at Southland coaches because there's no way we could go after anyone better right now? (Stating the obvious!?!)

Perry is at TExas AM Corpus Christi. I don't think we will hire any of the Southland guys, but many of them are very deserving

Please people stop the drama. The Southland is not better than the Sunbelt. Yes we lost to McNesse but hey everyone has a bad game and we did royally but by far the Southland in and out is not better. Not saying Kasper is not a good coach. I have met him and saw his teams play. He could be a fit here but let's not go overboard with the Southland/Sunbelt issues here.

This was a clear down year for the SunBelt, but even in a down year, I'd think that the Belt teams would beat Southland more often than not.

McNeese is a different animal. Losing to them is not like losing to your average Southland team. We play them every year and even our best teams in the past couldn't avoid getting home-cooked when the game is in tha Chuck.

That all being said, it was a particulary bad McNeese team that beat us this year even by Southland standards.

I don't think that the Southland is always a better league than the Sunbelt. I just think that it is this year. I also think that the winner of the Southland will probably get a higher seed than the winner of the Sunbelt.

McNeese is one of the worst teams in the Southland this year. The Texas schools in the Southland are very good this year. They are extremely solid. That leads me to the point that I was making. What makes you think that the Sunbelt is better than the Southland??? (This Year)

Apparently, SHSU is The team in the Southland this year. Why is their head coach not mentioned. They lost to UL but beat Auburn and are having a great year. I don't know anything about him, just wondering.
