Default Some positive takeaways from the game

The crowd was good for a Wednesday night game. Students were out in force for a change. Defense was pretty good last night. Honestly, how many of you thought either team would win scoring only 17 points?

And one more, the punt team was pretty good as well.

Why we lost? 3rd/4th down and only 2-3-4 or less yards to go.....When we needed to run for clutch short yardage.....App owned us.

& our next commitment needs to be a stud kicker.

Last series on 10 possessions. 6 were pass weighted, 3 were run heavy, one was 50/50.

None of the pass oriented series produced points.
The 50/50 series was the touchdown.
Two of the run heavy series resulted in stalled drives.
One of the run heavy series resulted in a blocked FG.
Only one of the run heavy series resulted in a punt.

Last series of first drive. 2 passes, 1 run, punt.

Last series of second drive. 2 passes, 1 run, punt.

Last series of third drive. 2 passes, 1 run, punt.

Last series of fourth drive. 1 pass, 3 runs, stalled at goal.

Last series of fifth drive. 1 pass, 1 run, touchdown.

Last series of sixth drive. 0 passes, 3 runs, blocked FG.

Last series of seventh drive. 0 passes, 3 runs, punt.

Last series of eighth drive. 2 passes, 1 run, punt.

Last series of ninth drive. 2 pass, 1 run, punt.

Since joining FBS and after starting 1-5 app state has gone 47-11 with 3 consecutive conference championships. We just aren’t there yet, but clearly we are getting closer and should have won last night. Our last coach got us on probation and was fired, their last coach moved on to Louisville. They have a winning tradition with 3 national titles we don’t have anything to
Speak of really in regards to tradition...and we still
Should have won last night. I’m more concerned with the fact our leadership couldn’t see what was coming and avoid an operational disaster. It wasn’t even a capacity crowd

I agree with this. I'm way more (p)issed about the repeating peripheral issues with gameday experience than the loss. I'm sitll (p)issed about the frickin' loss on national TV (AGAIN), but how can you set the table for 10 when you have 400 coming over for dinner.... Over and over and over and over and over...

Welllll.... I didn't want to say anything, but someone in charge of a lot of things around here got his ASSET lit up on the sidelines last night by the Boss..

We've discussed that individual at length here before.. And I'm not one to say I told you so but....
