Thread: 2020 Kicker

  1. Default Re: Kicker 2020

I believe the STM kicker from last year is currently enrolled at Louisiana. Might want to give him a tryout to finish this year. Is that even allowed?

i never understood why the most highly recruited kickers go to “the big boys” who often win so handily it doesnt come down to a kick.... seems i would prefer a mid major to get to kick more. also didnt cajuns produce at least 5 nfl kickers when we werent even giving them scholarships?

if I remember correctly, Hud inherited Brett from Bustle. With the growth of soccer, most coaches have gone back to the 60s-70's mentality that "we'll find a kicker".

The late Bill Dotson at Acadiana could not stand soccer players. Yet it was ironic a soccer player turned kicker delivered the winning points for their first state title.

Bottom line, we have not had a guy that was money inside 40-45 for a long time, and could attempt 50+ with some level of hope.

And UGA's kicker was money all year until the announcers put the "hasn't missed" curse on him in the first quarter.

Our kicker from last year was pretty damn good.

Baer and No Missy Comisky were pretty solid too. That covers roughly 10 years of kickers.

fair enough, but seems youd get burnt out on extra points if you dont try enough field goals, and not to mention punters don't seem to get much action for bama (granted they could get too much if they come to us) there must be a middle ground correct answer, lol. academics maybe? and was it the ou sooner kicker who had “off field troubles”, that seems ironic, is the “fame” of kicking getting to their heads now?

Wrong, Big Boys aren't any better at scoring touchdowns than the Real Deal are.

Kickers 'see' more opportunities from failed drives.

Just kidding. Truth is, kickers feet can't spot a talent graveyard even if they were treading on one.

First of all I agree with you. "No way it's academics." No way.

Second the irony is thick because an acronym of academics is "cicadas."

You know, that "perennial" bug that makes an appearance ever decade and a half.

And when that bug hits, I hear all the boundary rules for Little League Baseball are out the window.
